Anna & Monika’s St. Louis Senior Photography by Roland Studios Photography

Anna and Monika may not appear to be twins on the surface, but get to know them at all and this is readily apparent. When Anna and Matt Roland of Roland Studios Photography took their St. Louis senior photography, we got a first-hand glimpse into their special relationship.

While they enjoyed getting their pictures taken alone, they really started to come out of their shells when they were taking their St. Louis senior photography together. It was much more natural for them to be together when we were shooting them rather than being alone. Anna and Matt were able to get some great shots of them separate that turned out great, but the best shots of the day happened when the two of them were together. Normally St. Louis senior photography is about making our client’s individuality stand out, but these two asked to be together when shot at each location!

Our day started with a special treat for the two of them. Instead of meeting at our first location, we instead met at Blown Away Blow Dry Bar. They got hair and makeup done by the professionals at Blown Away Blow Dry Bar and walked out to our first location looking amazing!

St. Louis senior photographers Anna and Matt Roland started the photo shoot on the Delmar Loop, one of the twins favorite hangouts. The first shots taken were at the Tivoli Theater, then we all walked down to Starbucks for some refreshments.

After leaving the Delmar Loop, we finished the St. Louis senior photography shoot in Forest Park. There were several locations within Forest Park we utilized for the photo shoot. There were two bridges, plenty of water and fountains to photograph the twins by!

We are pleased with the way this St. Louis senior photography shoot turned out, and we hope you enjoy it as much!

St. Louis Family Photographers Anna & Matt Roland Photograph the Flynn’s

It was a perfect day for taking photographs when St. Louis family photographers Anna and Matt Roland of Roland Studios Photography recently had the opportunity to spend time with a great family. The Flynn family made our shoot so much fun and it went by so fast. I wish we had more time to spend together as this family was up for anything!

We started our St. Louis family photography shoot downtown in an industrial area utilizing some cool doorways. We then had some fun on railroad tracks nearby that are in fact still in use (a railroad worker even drove up to let us know this little known fact as well)! After that, we moved to another building/doorway nearby to take some separate shots of mom and dad. With some great shots in hand, Anna and Matt Roland of Roland Studios Photography took the shoot a little west to the City Gardens. After a few shots there, we finished the St. Louis family photography shoot down by the river at the graffiti wall.

This family looked fierce at times, cute at other times and amazing all the time! They were up for anything St. Louis family photographers Anna and Matt Roland of Roland Studios Photography wanted to throw at them and probably would have ran around with us all day long taking photographs if they didn’t have things to do later that day. All of them were relaxed and it showed in their photographs. Dad loved to have his photographs taken and had enough hats to make it through an entire day of sessions!

We hope you enjoy these images as much as St. Louis family photographers Anna and Matt Roland of Roland Studios Photography and the Flynn family did!

Jack & Dom’s St. Louis Senior Photography by Roland Studios Photography

Photographing twins can be a challenge especially when they are teenagers and want their own identity. Anna and Matt Roland of Roland Studios Photography were able to catch this in St. Louis Senior photography for Jack and Dom recently. The two twins grew up very close to each other, but have unique personalities that Roland Studios Photography was able to capture.

The twins are both are into sports (along with their other four brothers and sisters), but each twin plays a different sport. Jack is into soccer, while Dom plays football. Roland Studios Photography was able to get some unique shots of the twins in their respective sports. Matt took the sports pictures on the football field and soccer pitch, while Anna took each of the twins individually to a special grotto to take their separate St. Louis senior photography portraits. Then Anna and Matt met back up with both twins to take some shots with the two of them together. While they want their own identities, they are still twins and wanted some shots with each other. Roland Studios Photography utilized a park-like atmosphere for the shots of them together and finished the shoot up in a field getting a few more individual shots.

The two of them managed to make a few outfit changes during the shoot wearing everything from sports uniforms, to polo’s and even some casual school sportswear attire. This shoot was a lot of fun trying to show each senior’s unique personality while still keeping things similar enough to match their closeness as twins.

This was just the start to our St. Louis senior photography for this season! Stay tuned for ANOTHER St. Louis senior photography twin shoot and many more to go along with these.

Nixon’s St. Louis Children’s Photography by Roland Studios Photography

Anna Roland of Roland Studios Photography was contacted recently for a St. Louis children’s photography session. The family brought the eleven-year-old young lady all the way from Houston, TX for Anna to photograph, choosing Roland Studios Photography over a lot of other studios across the country. Nixon’s dad is a prominent businessman in Houston, TX and her mom owns an online pearl retailing website Dragon King Pearls.

In doing the initial St. Louis children’s photography consultation with Nixon and her family, Anna uncovered a love of horses and that Nixon was riding English-Style Equestrian, the kind where the horses jump over obstacles along a predetermined course. Anna took this information and ran with it planning an entire session around the idea of equestrian riding. She contacted several stables in the area, had Nixon and her family bring her riding outfit and went dress shopping for a vision she had of Nixon riding the horse bareback and barefoot in a sundress!

Nixon and her family had purchased a pony recently trained specifically for this style of riding, but it had not been delivered yet, so instead we went with a horse from the stables for the St. Louis children’s photography session. They arrived early in the afternoon on the day of the shoot, and Anna and Matt went to work getting everything ready ensuring she looked great, everything was all set and ready at the stable and we had everything we needed for the shoot.

Anna started the shoot with Nixon on a ride through the property, then found the perfect field for some one-on-one time with the horse we picked out and finished the St. Louis children’s photography session with some portraits of Nixon around the stables. Nixon and her family were extremely pleased with the way these portraits turned out and are looking forward to another session next year!

Litz’s St. Louis Wedding Photography by Roland Studios Photography

Anna and Matt Roland of Roland Studios Photography recently had a unique opportunity to photograph the St. Louis wedding photography of a mother of a bride we had recently worked with on her St. Louis wedding photography. After photographing her daughter’s wedding in March of this year, Nancy was so impressed by our work that she contacted us about shooting her upcoming wedding to Rob in June of this year.

We had such a great time with her daughter’s wedding and enjoyed the family so much, that it was an easy decision to say yes to this wedding! The format of the wedding would be identical to her daughter’s wedding just a few months before. The ceremony and the reception would take place at Temple Israel in Creve Coeur, MO.

Upon arriving at Temple Israel, we immediately began organizing the St. Louis wedding photography formal pictures. Unfortunately due to the weather that day, we were forced to take pictures inside instead of out in the beautiful garden that was right outside the front door. We had taken some amazing photographs there for her daughter’s wedding and now the garden had filled out with flowers and bushes and looked absolutely amazing. The issue was it was pouring rain at the time of the pictures, and we didn’t want to risk ruining the bridal party’s hard work getting ready for some pictures, so we made due with shots inside.

Once we were done with formals, the wedding day began with the signing of the ketubah. This was a little different than her daughter’s ceremony as the ketubah signing was a public event open to all guests, while her daughter’s was more formal and only open to family. There were cocktails and horderves served while watchers on witnessed the signing of the Jewish marriage certificate.

When this was complete everyone made their way back to the sanctuary for the start of the wedding ceremony. It was an entertaining ceremony filled with hugs, laughter and even at one point Nancy even stopped the ceremony to address the crowd.

After the ceremony was over, the reception began with another amazing dinner from the staff at Temple Israel. Then there were plenty of heart-felt speeches followed by dancing into the late night. It was another amazing time with this family, and we thank Rob and Nancy for allowing us to share in their special day!
